Description
No. 1 Lyndhurst Square is a detached villa built in 1843, designed in a playful Gothic style. It features amber brick construction with a hipped slated roof and gables adorned with barge-boards, along with stucco dressings. The building has an L-plan layout and stands two storeys tall with two bays at the front and a three-bay rear elevation. The front entrance is highlighted by a stucco door surround, which has a small quatrefoil motif raised above the center. The front sash windows include glazing bars and are set in a projecting, gabled bay with canted corners on the ground floor. The ground-floor window is a tripartite design with a slightly cambered brick arch and a moulded stucco string above it, while the first-floor window features a flat, gauged-brick arch. There is also a barge-boarded gable on the left return. The interior has not been inspected. Nos 1-7 and No. 10 form a group.
