Description
4 and 5 Lyndhurst Square are a pair of semi-detached villas built in 1843. They are constructed from amber brick and feature a half-hipped slated roof with gables that have barge-boards, along with stucco dressings. The design showcases a playful Gothic style. Each villa has two storeys and two bays, with No. 4 having a gabled one-storey extension on the left side. The door surrounds are made of stucco and include a small quatrefoil motif raised above the center. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set within projecting gabled bays that have canted corners at the ground floor, and they are topped with very slightly cambered, gauged-brick arches. The ground-floor windows are tripartite and feature a moulded stucco string above. The interior has not been inspected. Nos. 1-7 and No. 10 Lyndhurst Square form a group with these villas.
