Description

This is a house dating from the 1830s to the 1850s, part of a group including numbers 68 to 76 (even). It's constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a stucco finish to the basement and dressings. The roof is slate, with a gable facing.

The house has two and a half storeys over a basement and features a three-window front. All windows are flat-arched, except where noted. Steps lead to the entrance, which has an overlight and is set within a porch supported by pierced corner piers. The entrance door is of 19th-century design. To the right of the entrance is a pair of windows, each framed by a decorative aedicule – a flush architrave, a console bracket, and a pediment. These windows have projecting sills with cast-iron balconettes decorated with Greek Revival palmettes, alongside original ornamental pelmets. A sill band runs along the first-floor windows, which have original 2x2 sashes with margin lights. An attic window, round-arched and with a projecting sill and flush architrave, sits just under the gable peak. The entrance section ends in a gable return, creating a small cross wing to the south. There are projecting eaves to the main elevation and return, featuring brackets and boarded soffits. A dormer is present on the entrance range.

The interior has not been inspected.
