Description

A pair of semi-detached houses dating to the early 19th century, located in Brunswick Park, Southwark. The houses are constructed of brick in Flemish bond, with a slate roof. Each house has two storeys and two dormers, over a basement. They each feature three windows. The entrances are paired and centrally located, accessed via Doric prostyle porches with semicircular overlights. Basement windows are segmental-arched and railed. Above, the windows are 2x2 sashes with margin lights of an original design, each set beneath a gauged brick lintel. Brick detailing includes treated corner quoins, a brick entablature, and broad, boxed eaves. Later dormers have replaced the original roof structure. A tall stack rises along the party wall, and the gable ends return with crowstepped gables. The interior has not been inspected. The property includes spearhead railings to the basement area and stout wall piers along the returns and alleyway. It forms a pair with numbers 3 and 4.
