Description

These are a pair of semi-detached houses dating to the early 19th century, located on the south side of Brunswick Park. They are built of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a slate roof. Each house has two storeys and two dormers, over a basement level. They each have three windows facing the front. A paired entrance is centrally located, accessed by stairs leading up to Doric prostyle porches, which have semicircular windows above the doors. Segmental-arched windows are located in the basement area, which is enclosed by railings. The windows above have gauged brick lintels and 2x2 sashes with margin lights of an original design. The brickwork is treated to resemble corner quoins, with a brick entablature and broad, boxed eaves. The roof has been altered, with the present dormers being a later addition. A tall stack is located on the party wall, visible where the gable end finishes as a crowstepped gable. The interior has not been inspected. The property includes spearhead railings to the basement area, and stout wall piers to the returns and alleyway. It forms a group with numbers 1 and 2.
