Description

No. 151 on Borough High Street is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond with stucco dressings and features a parapeted roof, which was rebuilt in the late 19th century. The building has three storeys and an attic above a basement. There is a 19th or early 20th-century shop front at the corner and one bay of the return, with a round-arched entrance located at the rear. The upper-floor windows are flat-arched, with a one-window range and a five-window range on the return. The first-floor windows on the main elevation and the first bay of the return are framed by an aedicule topped with a pediment, while the second-floor windows in these ranges have an eared architrave. The main range and the first range of the return are highlighted by a pair of thin, two-storey pilasters with an entablature, which features a frieze adorned with shields. The entablature continues around the curved and rebated corner range. A brick dentil cornice is present at the parapet, and the upper-floor windows have sashes of an authentic design. The interior has not been inspected.
