Description
66, 68, and 70 Borough High Street are three houses that have been combined into one office space. They date from the mid-18th century to the early 19th century, with a later 20th-century shop front and interior. No. 66 is likely from around 1740. The ground floor is treated as a single unit with Nos. 68 and 70. The buildings feature multi-coloured red brick with red brick dressings, and the roof is hidden behind a parapet. They are four storeys high with two bays. The windows are restored sashes with glazing bars in flush frames, topped with shallow segmental gauged-brick arches. No. 68, dating from the late 18th century, has a multi-coloured yellow stock brick façade. It has a steep pitched slate mansard roof with a dormer behind the blocking course and cornice. This building also has four storeys and an attic, with two bays and sashes under flat red brick arches, along with a rendered band at the third floor. No. 70, possibly from the late 18th or early 19th century, shares the ground floor treatment with Nos. 66 and 68. It is built of multi-coloured brown stock brick and has a roof obscured by a parapet. This building is five storeys high with one bay and features 6-pane sash windows with flat gauged-brick arches. The interior has not been inspected.
