Description
Nos 9, 11, and 13 Hall Road form a group of three buildings dating to the late 18th century, with an addition from the early 19th century. Nos 9 and 11-13 consist of a pair of red brick houses, constructed using a Flemish bond pattern, and have red pantiled roofs. Each house is two bays wide and two storeys tall, with single ground floor and first floor flush wooden-framed sash windows featuring glazing bars and margin lights. The houses have six-panel fielded doors, with the two upper panels glazed, set within wooden architrave surrounds. Shaped wooden brackets support triangular, leaded canopies above the doors. There are four purlin irons visible at the first-floor level, and a central party wall stack. No. 9, which now houses Jasper Antiques, is attached to the south, and is built of early 19th century coursed, squared rubble carstoneblocks with brick dressings. This section also features a red pantile roof with one ground floor and two first floor sash windows with glazing bars and margin-lights. The ground floor of No. 9 has a three-bay shop front with two Gothic arches, simple four-centred tracery to the door and windows, and an entablature and cornice above. A stack is located behind the ridge. The buildings are included in the list for their group value context.
