Description
The Mission Room Building and Stable Block is a wing of a former mansion, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It has a main front facing the road, which is a single storey and consists of three bays. The façade is defined by an enriched Doric order featuring egg and dart moulding on the echinus of the pilasters, with paterae positioned between the triglyphs and mutules of the cornice, topped by a tall balustraded parapet. The building includes round-arched windows set in recesses, each with moulded architraves and enriched pilasters, and a door located in the left arch. To the right, there is a two-storey section with one window, featuring an open pediment that holds a lunette. The ground floor has a Venetian window with delicate bars.
At the western end, there is a stable range that consists of five bays, which decrease in width from a wide central bay. Flat pilasters support a frieze, cornice, and parapet, which includes a central pediment and cupola. The road-facing side is finished in incised stucco and features one tripartite window and a small casement. The rear has a wide segmental bow with three sash windows that have bars, while the west section is mostly blank except for one round upper window.
