Description
No. 53 is an early 19th-century house that stands three storeys tall and features three windows. It is constructed of stock brick and has a stone mutuled cornice along with a stone-coped parapet that precedes a hipped slate roof. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are adorned with gauged flat brick arches. The centre window on the first floor is framed by a moulded architrave and has a cornice supported by console brackets, topped with a pediment. Although the ground floor has been altered for use as a motor showroom, the building is still significant as the former residence of architect Lewis Vulliamy.
