Description

The Ye Olde Windmill Public House is an early 19th-century building, though likely with earlier origins. The front facade is constructed of stock brick with a stone-coped parapet that conceals a steeply pitched, hipped slate roof. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within gauged flat brick arches. The window on the left-hand first floor has been extended, breaking the cill band. Later doors have been added. A mid- to late-19th-century feature, originally a door, has been altered into a window in the second bay from the left. Canted bay windows are present at both ends, with the north one clad in weatherboarding and fitted with sash windows containing glazing bars. The rear range dates to the early to mid-19th century, with a low-pitched hipped slate roof and several sash windows with glazing bars set within moulded architraves.
