Description

This is a pair of large houses dating from the early to mid-19th century, numbers 32 to 38 Stockwell Park Crescent. Each house is three storeys high with a basement and features either two or one window in the main block, plus a recessed entrance bay. The houses are constructed of stucco, with angle and paired central pilasters supporting a reduced entablature and pediment, resting on a band above the first floor. The lower floors are banded, with rustication around the window openings that forms the appearance of voussoirs. The windows are mostly sash windows with glazing bars, set within moulded architraves. A frieze and cornice run above the first floor. The tripartite ground floor windows are flanked by pilasters and have entablatures, with patterned cast iron balconies. Seven steps lead to half-glazed four-panel doors, set within square-headed recesses beneath a cornice, across the full width of the recessed bay.
