Description

This is a pair of early to mid-19th century houses, numbers 42 to 48 Stockwell Park Crescent. Each house is two storeys high with a basement, and has two windows. The houses are built of stock brick with a stuccoed basement. They have low-pitched slate roofs with eaves soffits. There is a recess on the main axis, and the outer entrance bays project slightly. The windows are sash windows, some with margin lights, set under gauged brick arches on the first floor and within tripartite stucco panels on the ground floor. These ground floor panels feature a frieze of paterae, and console bracketed peaked cornices below. Cast iron ornamental window guards are present. Seven steps lead to four-panel doors, each with a rectangular fanlight, contained within an entablature surround with a paterae frieze.
