Description
This is an early to mid-19th century pair of two-storey, two-window buildings located on Southwell Road. The buildings are stuccoed, with quoins, a sill band at the first floor level, and a band running across the first floor. Slightly projecting sections emphasize the outer windows. The roofs are slate-covered with an eaves soffit. The window architraves are moulded; those on the ground floor have a console bracketed cornice and segmental pediment. All windows are sash windows with margin lights. The ground floor projecting sections feature banded rustication. The central entrance doors are four-panelled, with rectangular fanlights, and are paired within a modified entablature surround including a dentil cornice, wreaths in the frieze, and an inscription reading "SPRINGFIELD COTTAGES" on the blocking course.
