Description

This detached villa dates from around 1842. It is constructed of yellow brick with a low-pitched, hipped slate roof, featuring paired brackets to the deep eaves soffit and triple brackets at the corners, and a moulded brick cornice below the roofline. The house is three storeys high with a basement, and originally comprised three bays. A one-storey and basement extension is present to the right, and a two-storey and basement extension to the left. Colossal brick pilasters, built on two planes and with stucco capitals, rise between the windows across all floors, supporting the eaves brackets. A projecting stucco porch, with pilasters, an entablature, and a segmental-arched entrance, is located in the left-hand bay. The sash windows have flat, gauged-brick arches, with blind boxes. Ground floor windows have brick keys, and the two left-hand windows on the second floor have margin lights. A brick string course is positioned above the ground-floor windows. The interior has not been inspected. The property forms a group with numbers 93-97 (odd) on Denmark Hill.
