GV II

House, now part of the Maudsley Hospital. Early C19. Brick in Flemish bond with stucco dressings; roof parapeted. Rectangular in plan. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys over basement and 3-window range. All openings are flat-arched. In centre, entrance with overlight reached up steps and set in rectangular porch, which consists of Ionic columns in antis and entablature; each side wall of porch pierced by one flat-arched window. One window to either side of entrance with entablature and projecting cornice, lintel string courses. Storey band between ground and 1st floor; 1st-floor windows with architraves and alternating triangular and segmental pediments; centre window with console brackets as well. Sill band to 2nd-floor windows, each window with entablature and projecting cornice. Entablature band and projecting cornice. 12x12 sashes of original design to 1st floor and 9x9 to 2nd floor. Right return of scattered fenestration. Left return of upper floor blank, lower floor occluded by No.101 (not included). Stacks to returns. INTERIOR: not inspected. Listed for group value with the Maudsley Hospital and No.99 (qqv) Denmark Hill.
