Description

This is an early 19th-century pair of buildings located on Woodhill. Each building is two storeys high with a basement and originally had two windows. They have low-pitched, hipped slate roofs with an eaves soffit. The central two-bay section projects slightly and is constructed of yellow stock brick, accentuated by stuccoed pilasters on either side and in the centre. These pilasters support an elliptical stucco arch, split into two planes, under an eaves cornice. The cornice continues around the stuccoed, single-window side bays. The building has a stuccoed basement plinth. The first-floor recessed sash windows originally had bars. The ground floor has long casement windows set in wood-lined reveals, with moulded architraves and modified entablature surrounds. These windows open onto cast iron balconies. Steps with a cast iron handrail lead to doors featuring wide wood jambs, cornice heads, and elliptical fanlights. Number 118 has a six-panel door and a patterned fanlight, while number 120 has a modernised door and a plain fanlight. A two-storey and basement, one-window right extension with a basement garage is also present.
