309, 311 AND 313, BRIXTON ROAD SW9

309, 311, and 313 on Brixton Road, built in the early 19th century, are part of a terrace. The buildings are two storeys high, with an attic and basement, and each has two windows. They feature a slated mansard roof with dormers and are constructed from stock brick, topped with a stone-coped parapet. There is a cill band on the first floor, and the sash windows have gauged flat brick arches, some of which include glazing bars. Number 311 has ground floor openings beneath an elliptical gauged brick arch with a mask on the keystone. It also features a tripartite window with a classical decorative frieze on fluted column jambs, and a similar decorative style is seen on the half-glazed door, which has a rectangular fanlight and is accessed by eight steps with a wrought iron handrail. The basement is finished in rusticated stucco. Number 313 has a later 19th-century rear extension and a modern right front extension.
