Description
31, 33, 37, and 39 Lorn Road is a mid-19th century Gothic-style building consisting of pairs of houses. Each house has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a slightly set-back two-storey central entrance bay. The main block features a steeply-pitched gable end adorned with decorative bargeboards and a pointed window with a hoodmould in the gable. The central bay has a battlemented parapet and a Tudor-arched window with Y-tracery and alternating block jambs. The other windows are casements with transoms, also featuring similar jambs and hoodmoulds. The building is constructed of stock brick with stuccoed basements. Access to the houses is via five steps leading to four-panel doors, with number 33 featuring Gothic panels, all set in paired Gothic porches that have cusped blank arcading and angle pinnacles.
