Description
25 Lorn Road is half of a mid-19th century pair of houses that features a mix of classical and gothic architectural styles. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a narrower two-storey entrance bay that is set back. It is constructed of stock brick. The main block has a steeply pitched hipped gable end, adorned with decorative bargeboards, above a Tudor arched attic window that has a hoodmould. The other windows are framed with moulded architraves and have bracketed cills; the first-floor window is eared, while the ground-floor window features a cornice supported by console brackets and a patterned cast iron guard. The windows include sash designs with vertical bars above and casement windows below. Access to the building is via five steps leading to a three-panel door, which is set back in a porch that has a classical shape but incorporates gothic moulding in the frieze, matching the detailing above the ground-floor window.
