Description
16 and 18 Lee Road are a pair of houses built in the second quarter of the 19th century. Each house has three storeys, an attic, and a basement. They feature a central block with one window beneath a wide pediment that has two half-lunettes. There is also a two-storey outer bay that is set back, adorned with a stucco entablature and a blocking course. The houses have a recess on the axis with rebated angles and are constructed from multicoloured stock brick. The roofs are moderately low pitched and covered with slate. The sash windows, which have glazing bars and margin lights, are topped with gauged flat brick arches; No 16 has blind cases on its windows. Access to the houses is via six steps leading up to a four-panel door, which has a plain rectangular fanlight above it. This door is located in a small porch made of rusticated stucco, featuring a segmental arch and an entablature above. Nos 2 to 18 (even) form a group.
