Description

This is a long terrace of late 18th-century houses located on the east side of Kennington Road. The terrace comprises numbers 233 to 291 (odd), and each house has three storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a front of three windows. The houses are constructed of stock brick and have a stone-coped parapet. The roofs are slated mansards with dormers. The sash windows have glazing bars and are set within gauged flat brick arches. The central and end houses feature arcaded ground floors with round-headed windows set within stuccoed, round-arched recesses and impost bands. The doors are mostly six-panel doors, with cornice heads and fanlights set in similar recesses. Three central houses have a pediment with a brick dentil cornice and a central window. Some rebuilding occurred after war damage, and this work was carried out to a correct standard.
