Description

Chester House is an early 20th-century block of flats, originally seven windows wide. The exterior is stock brick with stone dressings, including a first-floor band, first and third-floor sill bands, and a moulded cornice with modillions. The roof is hipped and covered in pantiles. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within gauged flat brick arches. The third floor sill has brackets with guttae. The central three bays feature second-floor windows with triple keystones, and first-floor windows with voussoirs and a keystone incorporating a large mask. A thick, balustraded balcony, supported by heavy carved brackets, is present on the first floor. The ground floor is quoined, and a modest half-glazed door is set within a moulded architrave on the right-hand side.
