Description

37, 38, and 39 Chester Way is an early 20th-century block of flats, likely designed by Adshead and Ramsey for the Duchy of Cornwall Estate. The building is a symmetrical three-storey structure with five, seven, and five bays respectively. It is built in a neo-Georgian style, using stock brick with stone bands, an entablature, and a parapet. Red pantiled roofs are visible above the side wings. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set under flat, gauged brick arches. Cast iron balconies are present on the upper floors, some shared between two windows. There are three prostyle Roman Doric porches, the central one being wider and featuring paired columns, all topped by windows with interlacing bars in a Venetian style.
