Description

This is a detached house built in 1862. It is constructed of stucco and stands three storeys high, with an attic and basement. The house is three bays wide, arranged symmetrically as 1:1:1. The ground floor features channelling. A central entrance is accessed by steps, sheltered by a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy. Two-storey canted bay windows are located on either side, each featuring Ionic pilasters to the upper storey. Pilasters also define the outer windows on the second floor. A small balustraded balcony is situated above the central window. The building has a rich cornice and the attic was remodelled in stucco, preserving the central window. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor. The house was built as part of the planned layout for Holland Park.
