Description

This is a detached house, built in 1862. It is constructed of stucco and stands three storeys high, with an attic and basement. The house is three bays wide, arranged symmetrically as 1:1:1. The ground floor has channelled decoration. Steps lead to the central entrance, which features Doric half columns and a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy. Two-storey canted bay windows are located on each side, with Corinthian pilasters to the upper storey. Pilasters also appear on the outer windows of the second floor. A small balustraded balcony is positioned in front of the central window. A rich cornice is present. The parapet has been altered to incorporate the original three dormers; the two outer dormers have pediments, while the central dormer includes chimney outlets and smaller windows. Cast iron balconies are attached to the ground floor. The house forms part of the planned layout of Holland Park.
