Description
The stable building located to the north of Number 162 on Lower Clapton Road is an early 19th-century structure. It features three bays and is a single storey, positioned end on to the road. The building is constructed of stock brick and has a low-pitched hipped slate roof. The south side is arcaded and includes a stuccoed impost band and stone cills. There is a wide, round-arched window on the western side, while the other windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set under flat gauged brick arches. This stable building is part of a group that includes Numbers 158 to 162, the stable and wall to Number 162, and Bishop Wood's Almshouses.
