Description

The building is a block of stables located to the east of Number 5 on Silver Street in Stansted Mountfitchet. It dates from 1811 and is two storeys high. The stables feature fixed sash windows with glazing bars. On the ground floor, there is a stable door, while the upper storey has a tall boarded loft doorway. At the west end, there is a blank semi-circular arch with impost blocks, one inscribed with the initials CII and the other with the date 1811. The roof is hipped and covered with slate.
