Description

Western House is a house of 17th century origin, featuring a cross wing at the north-east end. It was altered and expanded in the early 18th century, with the front being rebuilt in brick around 1726. A 20th century office block has been added at the rear. The building has two storeys, attics, and cellars. It has a five-window range with double-hung sashes that include glazing bars, all set in flush cased frames. The doorway is adorned with fluted pilasters, a triglyph frieze, a cornice, and a pediment. The roofs are hipped and tiled, featuring an original central chimney stack with grouped hexagonal shafts and two flat-headed dormers on the front.
