Description
Crossways is an early 19th century large house that stands three storeys high with a basement and features five windows. The building is constructed of yellow stock brick and has a stuccoed cornice and blocking course, along with a cill band on the first floor. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set in stucco-lined reveals and are topped with gauged flat brick arches, except for the central windows that have been altered to late 19th century sashes with smaller panes. There are ornamental cast iron balconies on the first floor. Access to the house is via ten rebuilt steps that have a plain wrought iron handrail, leading to a prostyle Ionic porch that holds a half-glazed four-panel door with a rectangular fanlight. Crossways is part of a group with Nos 8 to 13.
