Description

  1. GREAT EASTERN STREET EC2 5013 (South Side) ------------------------ No 87 TQ 3382 35/220 II

  2. Third quarter of C19 building, office and possibly warehouse. 5 storeys, 2 windows. Stock brick with stone dressings. Ground floor defaced by modern shop but has at left a Gothic doorway with pointed arch, 3 orders of colonnettes and hoodmould. Paired, segment-headed 1st floor windows with stone shouldered lintels and hoodmoulds; and stone string above. Second and 3rd floor windows have fancy tiled tympana below 4-centred relieving arches and are contained in pointed arched recesses of 2-storey height. Set back top-storey windows behind arcade of columns and segmental arches which supports corbel table, eaves cornice and wrought-iron crowning balustrade.
