Description
The Clergy House, located to the west of the Church of St Michael, was built in 1870 by James Brooks. It is a two-storey building with an attic and features four bays that vary slightly in width. The house has a high-pitched slated roof and is constructed from stock brick with stone dressings. The windows are two and three-light sash types, each adorned with a carved trefoil pattern in the tympana beneath pointed relieving arches. Continuous hoodmoulds above the windows and across the front of the building create a unifying element. The Church of St Michael and the Clergy House are part of a group that includes the Sunday School on Leonard Street.
