Description

The building at 27 Great Tower Street, EC3, is a commercial property dated 1914. It is three storeys high with dormers set into a tiled mansard roof. The building has five windows. It is constructed of red brick with raked joints, featuring Portland stone dressings and designed in a style reminiscent of the late 17th century. The ground floor is channelled and includes a pedimented stone doorway leading to a passage on the west side. Ionic pilasters define the two upper storeys, with a stone entablature and brick parapet above. The parapet sweeps upwards centrally on either side of a narrow attic or lucarne, which is topped by a segmental pediment. A return window displays the date "1914".
