Description

Numbers 11-20 on Wren Street are two linked terraces of houses built around 1840-1850. They are constructed of yellow stock brick with a channelled stucco ground floor and a continuous sill band on the first floor. The buildings are two storeys tall with basements and feature two windows each. The entrances have square heads with panelled doors and overlights. The windows are recessed sashes, and some ground floor sashes still have cast-iron window guards. The first-floor sashes are architraved with pediments and were originally fitted with balconies. Numbers 16-20 have a stucco cornice and blocking course, while Numbers 11-15 have only a blocking course, except for the right-hand return, which has two blind first-floor windows. The two terraces are set at slight angles and are connected by a double-arched single-storey screen. The properties also feature attached cast-iron railings to the areas. The interiors have not been inspected.
