Description
This is a late 19th-century former public house located on a corner site in Camden. It was designed to complement the earlier terraces in Calthorpe Street. The building is constructed of red brick with rusticated stucco dressings. It is three storeys high and features one window on the main façade, one window on the bowed corner, and two windows on the return to Calthorpe Street. The public house's frontage includes red granite pilasters supporting an entablature, with a corner entrance featuring a part-glazed panelled door and similar panels on either side. The second and third-floor window bays are stepped forward from the corner, accentuated by rusticated quoins. The first-floor windows have architraves; the outer bays are tripartite sashes with cornices and segmental pediments, while the inner bays are simpler sashes with cornices and triangular pediments. A moulded sill band runs along the second floor. The second-floor windows are also architraved, with the outer bays being tripartite. The entablature and projecting cornice follow the stepping of the bays. The interior has not been inspected.
