Description
No. 242 on Gray's Inn Road is a terraced house and shop built in the early 19th century. It features yellow stock brick construction. The wooden shopfront has pilasters that support an entablature with an inswept frieze and a projecting cornice. The shopfront is bowed out over a former shop window, which has been altered. There is a recessed, partially glazed shop door, while the house doorway is square-headed and includes a fanlight above a 20th-century panelled door. The upper floors have recessed four-pane sash windows with gauged brick flat arches above them. The building is topped with a parapet. The interior has not been inspected.
