Description
This is a terrace of six houses built between 1792 and 1800 by James Burton, with some alterations. Numbers 105 to 107 have had their first and second floors refronted in the 20th century, while Number 109 has been completely refronted in the same period. The houses are constructed of multi-coloured stock brick, with stucco ground floors for Numbers 105 to 108. They feature stucco sill bands on the first floor and have slated mansard roofs, except for Number 109 which has a tiled roof. The terrace consists of three storeys, attics, and basements, with two windows on each house.
Numbers 105 and 110 have stucco doorway surrounds with pilasters that support a simplified, bracketed cornice, although the doorway of Number 105 has been altered. Numbers 106 and 107 have wooden doorcases with pilasters and entablatures topped with dentil cornices. Number 108 features an earlier 20th-century stone doorcase with a round-arched doorway and a radial fanlight, while Number 109 has a 20th-century doorway. The windows are recessed sashes, most of which have two panes and are topped with reddened, gauged brick flat arches. Numbers 105 to 107 have parapets, while Numbers 108 to 110 are adorned with stone cornices and blocking courses.
The interiors have not been inspected. Additionally, there are attached cast-iron railings with urn finials leading to the areas in front of the houses.
