Description
The Calthorpe Arms is an early 19th-century public house, situated at the end of a terrace. It is constructed of yellow stock brick, and has a cellar. The building is four storeys high, with a three-window return to Wren Street, and a two- and single-storey, four-window extension to the Wren Street return. A 20th-century wooden public house frontage features Corinthian pilasters supporting an entablature with a modillion cornice. A plain stucco sill band runs across the first floor. The windows are recessed 2-pane sashes with gauged brick flat arches. There is a parapet to the roof. The extension includes a first-floor bowed oriel window with two lights. The interior contains an early 20th-century grained bar counter and back.
