Description
This listing describes three terraced houses at 45, 47, and 49 Calthorpe Street, dating from approximately 1840 to 1850. The houses are built of yellow stock brick with channelled stucco to the ground floors, and a prominent first-floor band, modillion cornices, and a blocking course. Each house features a square-headed entrance with a panelled door and overlight. The windows are recessed sash windows; the upper floors have architraves, and the first floor windows are topped with pediments. There are also three enriched cast-iron balconies on the right-hand side of the properties. The interiors have not been inspected. These houses are part of the significant group of early 19th-century properties that define Calthorpe Street.
