Description

This is a terrace of 22 houses located on Georgiana Street, Camden, built in the early 19th century and later restored in the late 20th century as part of a Greater London Council renovation scheme. The houses are built of yellow stock brick with a rusticated stucco ground floor and a plain stucco first-floor sill band. They are three stories high with basements.

The houses generally have two windows each, though Number 38 has one window over a segmental-arched vehicle entrance, and Number 53 features bowed corner treatment with a one-window return onto Lyme Street. Doorways to numbers 32–35 have square heads with pilaster jambs supporting cornice heads, above fanlights and panelled doors. Doorways to numbers 36–53 have round arches with pilaster jambs and cornice heads, also above fanlights and panelled doors. An entrance to Number 53 is located on the return. Ground-floor windows to numbers 32–35 are square-headed sashes with margin glazing, while those to numbers 36–52 are segmental-arched. Number 53 has a square-headed window replacing a mid-19th century shopfront. Upper floors have gauged brick flat arches over recessed sashes, with numbers 32, 38, and 53 having architraved surrounds; Number 53 also has console bracketed cornices to the first floor. Cast-iron balconies are present to the first-floor windows of all houses except Number 38. Stucco cornices are found on numbers 41–44, 46 & 49, while others have been cut back, and Number 52 has a brick parapet.

The interiors were not inspected during the listing process.

Attached cast-iron railings with tasselled spearhead finials are present to the areas.
