Description
This is a terrace of six early 19th-century houses located on the south side of Greenland Road in Camden. The houses were restored in approximately 1976 as part of a Greater London Council renovation scheme. The exterior is constructed of yellow stock brick with a rusticated stucco ground floor and a plain stucco band to the first floor. The buildings are three storeys high and have basements. Each house has two windows. Round-arched doorways are topped with patterned fanlights, and feature panelled doors. The ground floor windows are sash windows with segmental arches. Upper floor windows are architraved sashes, with the first floor windows featuring console bracketed cornices and good cast-iron balconies incorporating anthemia (flower-like decorations) and scroll motifs. The original cornice has been replaced with a plain parapet band. The interiors were not inspected as part of the listing process. Attached cast-iron railings, with foliated spearhead finials, contribute to the group value of the terrace.
