Description

Numbers 7 to 41 Greenland Road comprise a terrace of eighteen houses, dating from the mid-19th century and restored around 1976 as part of a Greater London Council renovation scheme. The houses are built of yellow brick, with a rusticated stucco ground floor and a plain stucco first-floor band. Numbers 11 to 21 and 31 to 43 slightly project forward. Each house has three storeys and a basement, with two windows per elevation. The recessed doorways have pilaster jambs supporting cornice heads, above fanlights and panelled doors. The windows are recessed sashes; the ground floor of number 7 retains a good cast-iron window guard and the upper floors possess architraves. Numbers 7 and 9 have cornices to the first floor. Cast-iron balconies are present to the first-floor windows. A stucco cornice and blocking course runs along the terrace, though these features have been cut back at numbers 9, 19, 21, and 37 to 41. The interiors were not inspected during the listing process. Associated with the terrace are cast-iron railings with bud finials to the front areas.
