Description
This is a terrace of thirteen houses built around 1845. The exterior is yellow brick with rusticated stucco on the ground floors. Numbers 22 to 40 have slate mansard roofs with dormers.
The terrace is symmetrical, with slightly projecting end bays at numbers 22 and 24, and at number 46, which connects with numbers 68 and 69 Mornington Street. A central bay also projects, incorporating numbers 34 and 36. The houses have three storeys and basements, and numbers 22 to 40 also have attics. Each house has two windows. Doorways have console brackets, some of which are enriched, supporting cornices above the doorways. The doorways also have fanlights and panelled doors. Windows are recessed sash windows. The first floor windows have console-bracketed cornices and cast-iron balconies, while the second floor windows have bracketed sills.
Numbers 22 to 32 and 42 have a stucco cornice and blocking course. Numbers 34 and 36 have a stucco screen to the dormers, pierced at the windows. Numbers 38 and 40 have a crenellated brick parapet. Number 44 has a stucco cornice and a balustraded parapet, and number 46 has a stuccoed parapet.
The interiors were not inspected.
Attached cast-iron railings are present to the flanking entrance steps, with geometrical railings to the areas.
