Description

This is a terrace of ten houses located on the west side of North Gower Street, dating from the early 19th century. The houses are built of yellow stock brick with a rusticated stucco ground floor and a plain first-floor band. They are four storeys high, with basements. Each house has two windows.

The doorways are round-arched, each with a fanlight; the fanlight to number 211 features a patterned design. The doors are panelled and include fluted quarter columns at number 211, reeded surrounds at numbers 213-217 and 221, and panelled pilaster-jambs carrying cornice heads at numbers 219 and 223-229. The recessed sash windows have gauged brick flat arches and glazing bars. Cast-iron balconies are present at the first-floor windows, except at number 211, which only has the base of a balcony. The houses have parapets. The interiors were not inspected during the listing process. Attached cast-iron railings with acorn finials are present to the areas.
