Description

This is a terrace of ten houses, built around 1823-1827 by Thomas Cubitt. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick with stucco ground floors, except for numbers 70 and 72. They have a first-floor sill band and are three storeys high with basements. Most houses have two windows, but numbers 60 and 62 have one, and numbers 70 and 72 slightly project. The ground floor features round-arched openings. The doorways have panelled jambs, cornice heads, fanlights (some patterned), and panelled doors. Numbers 70 and 72 have doorways with fluted quarter columns supporting cornice heads, along with fanlights and panelled doors. The ground-floor window at number 54 has margin lights. Gauged brick flat arches feature above the recessed sash windows; the first floors have cast-iron balconies. Numbers 60 and 62 have segmental arches over four-light windows. The first and second floors have tripartite sash windows, and balconies. The houses have parapets, with numbers 54 to 60 exhibiting a stucco band below the coping. The interiors were not inspected. Attached cast iron railings are present.
