Description

Gang Moor is a detached house built in the early 18th century, with a refronting in the early 19th century and later alterations. It is constructed of yellow stock brick and stands three storeys tall, featuring three windows and a one-window extension at the north end. The main front has a two-storey extension with a hipped tiled roof and a wooden balcony above. The entrance includes a doorcase with a bracketed entablature and a dentil cornice, leading to a square-headed doorway that has a radial fanlight and a half-glazed door. The windows are recessed sashes with gauged red brick flat arches, mostly tripartite, and some are fitted with shutters. The interior has not been inspected. Historically, Gang Moor was the home of George du Maurier, a writer and artist, from 1869.
