Description

Apothecary House is a detached house built around 1730, with an early 19th-century extension, and was restored in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick, with a yellow stock brick extension, and features a tiled roof with dormers. It has two storeys and attics, presenting a double front with five windows, and a single window projecting from the extension on the right. The entrance has a 20th-century wooden doorcase with pilasters and a pediment, leading to a panelled door. The windows are flush frame sashes with exposed boxing; the ground floor windows have segmental arches, while the first-floor windows have flat arches. The extension also features flat arches. A central first-floor window is topped with a blind lunette that breaks into a broken bracketed pediment, and there is a bracketed cornice below the parapet. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to retain some panelling, a contemporary staircase, and a fireplace.
