Description
Fitzroy Lodge is an early 19th-century villa situated on The Grove, originally in the London Borough of Haringey and now within the London Borough of Camden. The building is constructed of stuccoed brick, with a hipped slate roof featuring deep projecting eaves and tall chimney stacks. The main section of the villa is a square composition, three windows wide and two storeys high, with ground-floor windows set within relieving arches. A two-window return is present on the left-hand side, treated similarly. A continuous sill band runs along the first floor level. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, and a mid-20th century glazed door is now in place. A projecting wing, three bays deep and with a one-window return, adjoins the main section on the right. This wing is two storeys high with a high attic that has been altered. A 20th-century extension and a rooftop conservatory are not considered to be of particular interest. The interior of the building was not inspected.
