Description
9B The Grove is a stable building that was originally part of Park House. It dates from the early 19th century, with some alterations and additions made in the late 19th century. The building is a single storey structure finished in stucco, featuring hipped slated roofs topped with a wooden cupola. The outer wall is made of pale stock brick and includes stone pilasters that are half reeded, positioned between window bays that support an entablature with a dentil cornice. There is a gated entrance adorned with a dentil pediment and an enriched tympanum. The stable windows are small, architraved, and barred. The building has a rounded right-hand angle, and the return to Fitzroy Park is similar but lacks the tympanum at the entrance. The interior has not been inspected.
