Description
10 and 11 The Grove are two semi-detached villas built around 1854-1855. They are constructed from pale stock bricks, featuring stucco quoins and dressings. The villas have shallow hipped roofs covered with slate, a central slab chimney-stack, and projecting bracketed eaves. They stand two storeys tall, with an attic and basement. The outer entrance bays are slightly recessed and have projecting porticos with round-arched entrances that include keystones and impost bands. A cornice and parapet run across the front of the houses, creating balconies for the first-floor windows. Each villa has a canted bay window on the ground floor and an architraved tripartite sash window with a cornice above. The porches also feature architraved sash windows with cornices above. The attic windows are architraved with a continuous sill band. The interiors have not been inspected.
